What Are Ya Workin On?

Hey Sis…

circle prep

I was thinking about all of my entrepreneurial sisters who are digging deep into their creative spaces and coming back with great ideas and visions and goals and aspirations, as I started this blog. But really this is for all my sisters with a need.

A while back I did a teleconference with my good friend, Delisha, founder of Divine Leadership, 365. It was entitled “Wake Up! Pursue Your Dreams”. (For your listening pleasure: https://fccdl.in/TRbOPvz1w and to check out her website http://www.divineleadership365.com). One of her questions was something to the effect of “What do you do when you lack resources?”. I was reminded of this question today as I sat with my good friend, Lisa, who is founder of Healing Hearts, a counseling service. (http://hope2healing.org).

I wanted to share my answer with you. As Christian women, we know that we need to take God at His word. If He said it, then that’s it. We don’t need to question it, bargain with it, barter it, or sugarcoat it. Shoot, we don’t even need to declare we believe it, in order to validate it. He said, that settles it. Our declaration of it, is a boost in strength for our own faith walk.

So when God says “I will supply ALL of your needs according to my riches in glory”, that’s exactly what He means.

So, for example, anytime panic starts to rise in my heart, concerning Hey Sis….how can I afford that? What if no one shows up? God I can’t say that…it’s too much! God that vision is sooooo big, how will I accomplish it?….I  have to check my gut. My double-spanxed, saran wrapped gut.

If it is a need I currently have, and no means to pay for it, accomplish it…then it’s not a need at the moment. Why? Simply put…when it becomes a need, My God will SUPPLY.

But what do I do in the meantime? How do I work towards the goal?

Preparation.

The times that God is quiet or seemingly “slow” in answering my need is not the time for me to become stagnant or lazy or unproductive. There is always work to be done. There is always research to be searched. There are always lists to be made and contacts to be acquired. There are always prayers to be prayed.

Whether it’s in your business, your personal life, your love life…

I remember gaining weight…more weight then I care to recall and thinking to myself, “I can’t afford a gym membership right now and I don’t have time in my jam packed schedule to go….oh well” and then would go make a 3rd plate. And then a bowl of ice cream. And then a late night snack of ribs and fries. Y’all get the point.

A mature Vee would’ve said I can’t afford a gym membership right now but walking around my neighborhood is free. And instead of ice cream, I’ll eat some grapes. And instead of pop, water.

When we are responsible with the things God has given us in the quiet times, He will not only supply our needs, in His time…but He will do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we can ask, think, or imagine.

So…with the gifts God has given you, the ideas and visions…the life He has blessed you with….how’re you working on it?

When the time is right, the Lord will make it happen. Make sure you’re prepared when He does…
